Life by Grace

JOIN ME IN MY JOURNEY PERMEATED BY THE GRACE OF GOD. "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me." I Corinthians 15:10

Fountain Inn's Christmas Past

Just south of Simpsonville, in the quaint town of Fountain Inn, every year most of the houses on Main Street are traditionally decorated for Christmas. They bring in horses and carriages from carriage companies in Charleston for two weeks in December. For only $6 for an adult and $3 for children ( I think that was the children's cost), you can enjoy a carriage ride down Main Street to see all the lights and decorations. My sister, Cherith, her friend, Brooke, my friend, Erin, and I all went down to Fountain Inn last Thursday night, December 13 to have a girl's Christmas night out. We had a grand ol time. It was just cold enough to bundle up and enjoy hot chocolate while we waited in line.

It is just crazy how alike we look, especially since we colored our hair the same color...and we are still 11 years apart.

After the carriage ride, we were taking pictures of each other outside the little building where they had Santa posing with children for pictures. After the children had all left the building, the lady who was taking pictures said we could come in and take pictures with our own cameras with Santa if we wanted to.

After having our picture taken with Santa, I had to walk down Main Street and try to get a good picture of my favorite house. I love traditional Christmas decorations and big, front porches on old, country houses. Since it was at night, I wasn't able to get a really good picture of it. No matter how much I love taking pictures, they never do justice in communicating the beauty and ambiance of a view like this. I have been wanted to make it down to Fountain Inn for the Christmas Past and finally was able to this year.
