Life by Grace

JOIN ME IN MY JOURNEY PERMEATED BY THE GRACE OF GOD. "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me." I Corinthians 15:10

More news from China

Here's the latest news. Eunice called from Chengdu and said that the best way to get more news on the team is by going to www.teamchinaonline.org. Hopefully, they will be able to post soon. Right now they are not able to post much on there.

Thanks

On her way...

By way of introduction, this is not Eunice. This is now her brother in her stead. For the time of her residence in China, I will be relaying messages onto here from her phone calls.

This morning was the first of the messages. Since I was en route for my slumbering for the day, Eunice left me a voicemail. She mentioned that she arrived at O'hare safely and even early. She had no problems till she was trying to check in. A cop walking around checking security noticed that she was having issues and stopped to help her. He informed her that she was at the wrong airport and that the airport that she neded to be at (Midway) was an hour away. So the gracious family that was helping Eunice dropped the one girl off and headed off to Midway. God showing His hand of goodnes once again allowed her to arrive on time at Midway. When checking in, her luggage was 5lbs over, but the attendant let it slide and put a note on her bag saying that it was heavy. When she left the voicemail, she was sitting at the airport ready to load. God is good once again! Stay tuned to more postings of the trip later.

Feel free to leave comments. We (her family) will try to relay them to her at the times that we can. Continue to pray for her and her team as they teach.

30 hrs before I fly out

I am having serious problems with getting pictures on the computer right now, so I don't have any pictures to post...as of the beginning of this entry. I have about 30 hrs before I leave from Chicago for China, and I am so excited. I started getting nervous butterflies earlier today. I am just eager to get there. God has been teaching me a lot along the way of getting me to China lately. I had the wedding in MI last weekend, and so I stayed up here to fly out of Chicago. When I made that plan months ago, I just figured that my aunt who has friends in Chicago could drive me down and it would be all nice and simple. Well, God had other plans in stretching me. My Aunt Karla is a nurse at Camp Beechpoint up here in Allegan, MI. This week is one of the two weeks this summer that she has to stay at camp 24/7. She said she would love to go to Chicago with me for the 4th, but she can't. For the past week and a half, I have been working on getting a ride to Chicago. I would think I had it all worked out and then something would fall through. As of yesterday, I finally had a for sure ride to Chicago with some friends from South Bend. The hardest part about getting a ride there was that my flight goes out at 7:20am, and I have to be there 2 hrs early. Most people don't look for opportunities to go to Chicago at 5:30am if they don't have to. Today, God showed me that He was going to have the final say in getting me to Chicago. My friend from South Bend called me this afternoon and told me that as they were trying to figure out how they were going to get me to Chicago, their daughter Aimee mention a family friend who is also going to China this summer to teach English. They checked about when she was going, and she is going on a different flight from Chicago with a different college 15 minutes after my flight leaves....and she lives 45 minutes away from where I am at in MI (South Bend is about 1 hr 1/2 away). I never cease to be amazed at how God shows His sovereign hand all that happens in my life. Now I have a ride with someone who is 45 mintues away and has to be in Chicago at the same time I do. Also, this other girl who is going to China has been nervous about knowing what to expect when she gets to China to teach. She has wanted to talk to someone who has been there before to help her feel more comfortable with it and ask questions....then God brings along me. He is so good to us. This has been the latest blessing that God has done in my life in preparation for the trip. I am just aching to finally be there...have all my stuff... and settle in for the month. It is so much fun going to a place for the second time that was so new the first time. But I can almost smell and see all the familiar things from last summer. I can't wait to see my friends again who are missing me. I miss them too. God has such great things planned for this trip. I can't wait to see what it will be. Stay posted.
